We Few, We Happy Few

"We few, we happy few, we band of brothers..." from Branagh's 1989 Henry V

They’re the scenes in books and movies that even the most pacifist among us can’t help but respond to, in spite of our better judgment, and often with a “Sign me up!” enthusiasm that would warm the heart of the most cynical army recruiter.

Of course the grandaddy of all these scenes is King Hal’s St. Crispin’s Day speech in Shakespeare’s Henry V. Here it is in four different versions from YouTube.
